Dear Students,
We are writing to invite you to participate in the 17th Annual Outreach Tulane day of service.
Outreach Tulane is a one-day volunteer community service event for incoming and returning students, as well as faculty, staff, and their families. Through Outreach Tulane we seek to strengthen the Tulane community by working together to provide needed assistance to local non-profit and government organizations. Additionally, we hope to instill a deeper connection to our community while fostering lifelong commitments to service. Our university’s largest annual community service event, Outreach Tulane is coordinated by CACTUS-the Community Action Council of Tulane University Students, Office of Student Programs at Tulane University, and the Center for Public Service.
The 17th Annual Outreach Tulane is scheduled for Saturday, September 1st from 8:30 AM to 3 PM. After meeting at Newcomb Quad, approximately 1000 volunteers will go to over 10 projects including: Habitat for Humanity, Beacon of Hope, the Green Project, Hands on New Orleans, the Rally for New Orleans Public Schools, the Arc of Greater New Orleans, and SAFER. This is a unique opportunity to serve New Orleans while also developing bonds with fellow students.
We encourage you to visit our website, http://outreach.tulane.edu/registration.php, for more information. Registration will open at this site on Monday, August 27th. Please contact OutreachNola@gmail.com with any questions.
We look forward to seeing you on September 1st!
Yours in Service,
Anne Marie Norman Jenna Lowy
